Event Cancellation:
All cancellations must be confirmed in writing to info@abelusi.co.za
For cancellations received more than one week prior to the course:
• 10% cancellation fee will apply.
For cancellations received less than ONE WEEK prior to the course:
• 25% cancellation fee will apply.
For cancellations received within 24 hours of the course:
• 100% cancellation fee will apply.

Substitutes are welcome at no additional charge. Substitute's personal and contact details must be e-mailed  to info@abelusi.co.za.

Postponements:
All Postponements not received in writing  at least 2 working-days prior to the event will incur a 40% penalty fee.

Absent Delegates:
In the event that a delegate does not arrive for the course and no written cancellation has been received and confirmed, the full course fee will be payable

Presenters:
Should it be necessary, Abelusi Training Network reserves the right to substitute the presenter with a suitable and capable substitute.

Course Aim:

Whether you are a Manager, PA, Administrator, Event Organiser, Secretary or a Resource on any project, you will require the core skills of project management.  This two day workshop has been designed to provide non-professional project managers with the essential knowledge to effectively plan, implement and review projects. In addition, through attending this course, delegates will be able to gauge their level of communication, time management and problem solving, thus enabling them to refine these key skills.

At the end of the course delegates will understand/will know how to...

  • Clearly define what constitutes a project and how to manage it at the hand of a Ten Step Project Process. 
  • Plan, organize and document a project in a logical manner. 
  • Use appropriate tools and documents in order to plan the project effectively and to minimize risk. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of delegation, time management, decision making and communication skills essential to effective project implementation and management. 
  • Review and learn from strengths and weaknesses identified on completion of a project. 
  • Influence people and negotiate solutions to problems which arise during your projects. 
  • Close the project successfully and according to the best outcomes.

Accreditation

This course is globally accredited with the Project Management Institute (PMI). The presenters, TenStep (Southern Africa) holds  Registered Education Provider (REP) status from the PMI internationally.
Participants can register 16 Contact Hours of training or 16 Professional Development Units (PDU's) towards obtaining/maintaining the acclaimed Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the PMI.

Project Planning
     • Basic planning tools and techniques
     • Communication
     • Monitoring and controlling activities
     • Documentation standards and data display methods

Practical Exercises

DAY 2

Implementing the Project
     • Keeping activities on track
     • Planning and contributing to effective meetings
     • Making effective decisions
     • Dealing with requests for change and difficult issues
     • Dealing with risk and quality issues on your project.
     • Negotiating for what you want

Reviewing the Project
     • Measuring what actually happened against the plan
     • Learning lessons - both positive and negative
     • The importance of providing feedback
     • Closing out and moving on
